It really is the finishing touches that pull a space together and make it feel like home.  The beautiful lake home of my client had a transformation after new hardwood floors were installed and custom window treatments and furnishings were brought in.  It was wonderful to reveal the changes to her a few weeks ago but the additional furniture items and accessories that have been added since then have really brought this space to life.

A color palette of navy and red brings in the blue tones of the gorgeous lake view with vibrant splashes of color that my client loves.  Layers of throw pillows, cashmere throws and accessories create a cozy balance.

Planning a party is always fun and sometimes the simplest touches can put big smiles on your littlest guests.  Here are a few ideas for a Fourth of July celebration that I think are great and if you plan ahead they can be pretty easy to put together.

I’ve found so many great images and ideas full of vibrant colors and outdoor life that I added to My Pinterest Page this past week.  Here are my favorites.

Earlier this year, a wonderful client asked me to makeover the living and television rooms in her summer lake home located in upstate New York.  We had new wide plank wood flooring installed and I’ve been working non stop to prepare it for her spring arrival this Memorial Day weekend.  A few pieces of furniture, accessories and artwork are still on their way but even though it isn’t one hundred percent complete she is ready to enjoy the new space in her home and it’s extraordinary lake view.  Here are the befores and afters.

BEFORE:

The living room was decorated twenty five years ago and needed some TLC.  My client loves to entertain and this large open space leading out to the lakeside of her property is the perfect place for her to relax with family and friends.

She wanted to keep the rattan furniture in her television room as it works nicely for casual entertaining but the room needed a few touches to make it warm and inviting.

Of course a little extra help from my three year old son Giuseppe came in handy on a few occasions.

The absolutely stunning lake view was our inspiration to look for beautiful blues and greenery to breathe life into these two great rooms.

While we are still waiting on a few more pieces to come in, I think this already lovely home became even more beautiful and ready for a summer of entertaining and relaxing on the water.

I hope my client enjoys her new space as much as I enjoyed pulling it together for her.

I’ve been working with Hammerton for well over ten years bringing high end quality lightng fixtures into the homes of my clients.  From beautiful vanity lights to custom large scale chandeliers, the solid weight of materials, superb craftsmanship and amazing hand applied finishes that go into all of their products always exceed my expectations.  Hammerton has a stunning collection of their own designs that work beautifully with interior styles ranging from contemporary to rustic.  You can see some of their designs feaured in My Online Boutique  or go here to view their entire collection made to order in Salt Lake City, Utah.   I’ve created many custom pieces with the help of the Hammerton team to meet the specific needs of the custom homes that I am bringing to life with my clients.  I’ve seen quite a few imitation lighting companies out there, but Hammerton is the leader.
