I'm Liz Genova, owner and principal designer of L.A. Design, LLC. I provide full service residential interior design and I proudly serve the Mid Hudson Valley region of New York and northern New Jersey.
Growing up in the beautiful Mid Hudson Valley region of New York just south of the Catskills, I learned to appreciate the peaceful natural surroundings and gorgeous mountain views that are the soul of this region. My husband and I built our home in Orange County, NY where we are raising our son and enjoying life in the country. I truly share in the excitement of clients who also wish to build their dream home or renovate an existing home in such a naturally stunning area as their primary residence or a restful retreat just beyond the city. My life long passion for interior design led me to study at the prestigious New York School of Interior Design in New York City where I earned a degree in Interior Design. I established L.A. Design, LLC in 2003 and have delivered a personalized high end design experience for so many wonderful clients over the past two decades. I’m proud to hear that they enjoy the design process and feel confident and relaxed knowing that I am considering every detail of their project.
I listen intently to understand the personal style, unique design goals and specific needs of my clients and their families. This understanding inspires me to create thoughtful furniture and lighting plans with custom made pieces that are as functional as they are beautiful. My design process leads to stunning interiors that are liveable and truly represent the personality of who lives in the home the moment the door opens. Every detail is designed with the intention to deliver that special feeling of being home, to entertain family and friends with pride and to work seamlessly with their lifestyle.
Every home deserves exceptional furnishings and finishes that are one of a kind. I source unique pieces at furniture markets, selecting from the most creatively designed furnishings made by talented craftsmen that can’t be found in a retail store. My access to exclusive design trade showrooms allows me to offer my clients high end luxury furnishings and materials hand made by skilled artisans to elevate their home’s interior.

I believe that good interior design is about achieving an immediate feeling of harmony and balance upon entering a home. Experiencing an interior space with a thoughtful layout and rich natural materials will evoke an incredible feeling each and every time. I’m drawn to textures and materials that speak to each other when layered in just the right way.
My approach to every project is to create a continuous flow connecting indoor spaces with the surrounding landscape by infusing natural materials that bring joy to my clients and make their daily routines feel extraordinary. DESIGN PROCESS
Discovery Call. During this complementary 30 minute phone call we will discuss your design goals, the scope of work, budget and timeline. I’ll explain how my design process works and what the next steps will be.
In Home Design Consultation. This is a paid 90 minute in person meeting. For renovation and redesign, I’ll walk the space with you to gather the intent of the functionality and aesthetic for your project. For new construction projects, we will review and discuss your house plans. I’ll share valuable design advice and creative ideas during the consultation.
Proposal & Design Agreement. This includes a detailed scope of work and my design fee to bring your vision to life.
Visual Concept. I will create 2D plans, elevations, 3D renderings and mood boards that invite you to see your home transformed.
Sourcing. I will present you with a curated collection of high end furnishings and materials including exclusive pieces available to the design trade.
Execution. I will bring attention to every detail of your project working together with contractors, craftsmen and vendors for a stunning final result.
